MUSICIANS
Since June 2002, Honi and her husband Jeff Deaton fulfilled their dream of forming their own band. The band members’ solid commitments to each other as musicians and as friends ignited the band's rapid rise. Their music is not only a representation of what they are, it is who they are to the core. Each member grew up in a musical family, played and sang since childhood, and has the professional experience to bolster the band’s quick success.

Honi Deaton, a prolific songwriter, provides the group with much of its repertoire. While she is best known as one of the finest vocalists in all of bluegrass, Honi is an accomplished upright bass player with excellent tone and timing.

Jeff Deaton on guitar, son of Ray Deaton of IIIrd Tyme Out, formerly a member of Lou Reid & Carolina, is following in his dad’s footsteps as a solid instrumentalist and vocalist. Jeff began playing professionally as a teenager with his family’s band, The Everett Brothers. It was during this time that the band was inducted into the Georgia Country Music Hall of Fame.

Wayde Powell
Wayde Powell III grew up in Young Harris, Georgia playing in his family's bluegrass band. Over the years, he has bridged the gap between traditional and contemporary music playing with bands, in plays, orchestras and studio recordings. He is a classical guitar major from North Georgia College and State University where he excelled in the jazz band, symphonic orchestra, and guitar ensemble. In addition, Wayde was an inaugural member of The New Crown Mountain Boys, the school's first bluegrass ensemble. His energy on stage adds futher dimension to this already outstanding band.

Josh Brooks (“The best kept secret of the mountains”) on the banjo is one of the most solid banjo players in bluegrass with style and tone compared to the likes of Terry Baucom. His former bands include Blue Ridge Grass and Firehawk. With soaring high tenor vocals, Josh’s range is almost limitless.
